Manifest-o…OMG

Sometimes I hear a word and I don’t think much of it at first, then I have a little “ah ha” moment about what it really means.  Let’s take the word manifesto, for example, it means to make a declaration of who you are and what you believe, either as a person or as an organization.  But, in looking at this word the other day I realized that it has the word manifest baked right into it.  This might sound a little woo-woo or hippy, but let’s face it, sometimes I am a little bit woo-woo and hippy.  Don’t worry, you will come to love this about me, really.  But I digress…

I think the word manifesto is Powerful.  Why?   Because in declaring who you really are, what you value and what you stand for, you are making room for those things to show up (manifest) in your life.  I know it may sound painfully cheesy, but deep down I think we all know the power of making a declaration.

A declaration is a promise to ourselves and the world.  It is giving our word.  And to most of us, our word is a pretty Big Deal.  We don’t make promises lightly and we don’t break them and think nothing of it.

I know, whoa, geez, so serious!  Yes, but also kinda exciting and freeing at the same time.  For a recovering “people pleaser” like yours truly, declaring your “truth” means making a commitment.  Yikes, that means you have to stand up for yourself and what you believe.  Some people aren’t gonna like that…especially, if they are used to you agreeing with them and doing what they want you to do all the time.  BUT…once you do choose to stand for something, whatever that may be, all of the sudden things start to fall into place and the world starts to help you build a reality that aligns with your beliefs…You begin to Manifest your MANIFESTo.  Ta da!  Whoaaaaa, right?!

Okay peeps, here I go….ready?  Imagine me like I’m in a scene out of movie.  Standing on a hilltop holding a determined fist in the air, my hair blowing around and stuff, can you see it?  I am proclaiming my manifesto, even at the risk of people thinking I’m cray-cray, or disagreeing, or disapproving, etc…gulp…

I believe in living life bravely

I believe there is plenty to go around (abundance)

I believe that happiness is a choice

I believe that laughter is a great stress reliever

I believe in being grateful and kind

Prioritizing the people I love

Being thoughtful and present

I believe that exercise and whole foods are the leading causes of health

I believe that I kick ass and will reach any goal I work toward

I believe that everyone has something amazing to share

I am perfectly and unapologetically me

What do you believe for yourself?  What do you want to manifest more of in this world?  The great thing about declaring your amazingness is that you get really brave and clear about what you bring to this world.  Whatever it is that makes you YOUnique, I hope you are sharing it with the rest of us.  If we are all generous with our gifts and talents, then THAT, is what I call creating a life more awesome.  Leave a comment telling us who YOU are!

xoxo,

Jen

Manifestos are awesome. We should make wall art of them and hang them on the wall. Mine’s hidden away in the closet in my CTG notebook…
